December 27, 2004 No Folding for Now

I may reclassify some of these as the types of folding become better articulated.

___________

XXX

Regeneration (1915): a simple story only

XXX

The Phantom of Crestwood (1932): has minor folding of radio to film

XXX

The Thirteenth Guest (1932): has minor folding of the story to the portrayal of victims around a table

XXX

Any Old Port! (1932):

XXX

Shadow of the Thin Man (1941)

XXX

Song of the Thin Man (1947): though the writers clearly had in mind to fold the song into the story somehow

XXX

The Big Heat (1953)

XXX

On the Waterfront (1954) but has some folded acting

XXX

Ten Little Maidens (1985) but has a clever fold in the relationship of inside mystery to inside ejaculation

XXX

Peril at End House (1990): alas, no Christie in this production

XXX

Kite (1998): has minor folding in the story told to the girl

XXX

The Replacement Killers (1998)

XXX

Basil (1998): The original novel folded a story into a backstory, but the film drops all the hints.

XXX

Erotic Witch Project, The (1999): Based on highly folded "The Blair Witch Project."

XXX

The Triangle (2001): has minor folding in reference to the original murder that produced the ghost that haunts the reluctant visitors

XXX

Being Mick (2001): some slight fold in the notion of a performance about performing.

XXX

102 Dalmantions (2002): has minor folding in the machine that triumphs is similar to the mechanical story

XXX

Trapped (2002)

XXX

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004): some minor folding in that the narrative structure is a narrated movie of an annotative diary published as a book and which presumably reflects a life (or type of life). Also, there's a central scene where she has a phone conversation (leaves a message) with her boyfriend who is also ringing at the door.

XXX

Without a Paddle (2004): is supposed to be folded as it incorporates several films by inclusion. But it is so poorly done it doesn't work.

XXX

The Passion of the Christ (2004): has a controversial and unwitting folding between what they depict as how it _must_ have been and what the Bible says (and then what we know to be likely true).

XXX

Flight of the Phoenix (2004):
